About Ishaan Tangirala

Ishaan Tangirala, is a fun-loving energetic 8-year-old kid. He comes from New Jersey, USA and is currently studying in 3rd grade.
Ishaan started learning Hindustani Classical Music at an early age of 4 years. It was his passion and love for music at such an early age that forced his parents to look for an able guru who could rightly and appropriately further his passion.
They found this able guidance under the tutelage of Shri Hemant Kulkarni ji who has ever since been guiding Ishaan through his musical journey. Shri Hemant Kulkarni ji is trained in the Gwalior and Agra Gharana gayaki and has been teaching vocal music and harmonium in the New Jersey area of US since 1998.

Achievements


Ishaan has won many awards in classical music across USA.

  • 1st prize in the Swarganga Crescendo Classical Competition 2015 – ‘under15′ category.
  • ‘Naada Shirornan’’ award for ge?ng the 1st prize in the Sindustani Classical Music Competition organized by the Krishna Vrundacan Temple, New Jersey
  • Winner at music competition hosted by Academy of Indian Music and Fine Arts, Columbia, Maryland.
  • Winner at the ‘Swaradhara’ classical music competition organized by Marathi Vishwa, New Jersey.
  • Ist prize winner at the Telugu Fine Arts Society Music Competition.Apart from music

Ishaan has also won awards in ‘Spelling bee competitions’ across the state and is also a part of the Gifted and Talented club of his
school district 

Ishaan loves playing soccer. He plays for the township soccer club and in his spare time, Ishaan enjoys swimming, skating and reading books.
